Wednesday 1 November is a Holy Day of Obligation, on which we are obliged to attend Mass. We shall have three Masses: 07:30, 10:00 and 20:00
A timely reminder that clocks go BACK one hour next Saturday night/Sunday Morning, 28/29 October, which means an extra hour in bed, not that most of us actually ever notice the difference! If you forget to adjust your clock, you might turn up an hour early for Sunday Mass!

This day also marks the 15th anniversary of Father Innocent’s priestly ordination. Deacon Ged Perkins writes:
"I am still seeking volunteers to participate in my Confirmation Survey. If you are Confirmed and aged between 18-29 please email me HERE or get in touch by way of the Contact Page on this Web site. Alternatively, look at the page on this website for the link to my online survey, or see posters in the porch." A reminder that this great Feast of the Church falls on Tuesday 15 August. The Assumption is a Holy Day of Obligation, and there will be Masses at 07:30, 10:00 & 20:00 as usual.
Speed humps are to be placed in Ellison Road, Danbrook Road and Arragon Gardens. This will take place between Thursday 3 and Friday 11 August 2017, depending on the weather. These traffic calming works may involve road closures and diversions, and will undoubtedly make it more difficult than usual to find parking spaces near the church. Please drive and park with care and with thought for others during this period.
Please will all parents wanting to enrol their children in next year’s First Holy Communion Programme collect an application form from the black folder in the porch. The form includes all dates and times for next year. If you take a form, please write your name and your children’s names on the list in that folder.
The dates list is also available to download from our Eucharist Page.
On the evening of Friday 24 June 2017, Bishop Patrick Lynch visited St. Bartholomew's to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on 42 of our young people. The Mass was a wonderful and uplifting occasion. Bishop Pat commented on how well all the candidates took part and how clearly they made their responses. Congratulations go to all the newly confirmed, their families and their sponsors. Special thanks goes to the team of catechists, who have been preparing the group for the last seven months, and to the priests and altar servers who attended. Please remember our young people in your prayers that, filled with the Holy Spirit, they will go forth and use their newly acquired Gifts in the service of the Lord.
