Children's Liturgy Group
The Children’s Liturgy group provides liturgies to help children consider how they can show their love for Jesus every day.
These sessions include a child-centred discussion about the week’s gospel, art and crafts activities, singing hymns and saying simple prayers. We also encourage children to become involved with fundraising through coffee mornings, and Masses at Christmas and Easter.
We hope this enables children to access the gospel in a meaningful and engaging way, whilst building strong relationships with peers in the Parish. The children often tell us how much they enjoy participating with these sessions and keep coming until they join the First Holy Communion Group when they are in Year 3.
The sessions are for children aged 3–7 who are able to join in without their parent or carer. Please do encourage your little one to come along — it’s a short, friendly and fun time for them to hear the Gospel in a way that’s just right for their age.
If you’d like to know more about what we do, or if your child has any special needs that would be helpful for us to know about beforehand, please feel free to contact our Lead Catechist – details below.
The group meets twice yearly to plan events and review liturgy planning. Members share in the implementation of planned events and are assigned to support liturgy groups.
We welcome all parishioners to join our group*. Support is provided to new members in developing their confidence as group leaders, and full details will be found here.
Membership of the group is free.
