As close to St Patrick’s Day as we could get! There will be a traditional Bacon & Cabbage dinner. We shall be having a licensed bar. Irish Coffees will be available at the bar. Music will be provided by Trixon Sound, and there will be dancing too! A few people have been working very hard in the background to make this event happen. Please do give the occasion your support. Doors at St. Bart's will be open from 19:00 with dinner at 19:30. Entry will be by ticket only at just £20.00, with tickets now available from the Parish Office. A big thank you for all your support this year with the Crisis appeals.
The 44 shoe boxes were fantastic! Today your generosity has been exceptional. We have raised £460 from the raffle and coffee morning. This money has helped house 22 people over the Christmas period and also can help get them get a chance to work towards ending their homelessness by advice and training. Your support for the projects that Bart Seniors embark on is amazing. We would like to wish you all a lovely Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year. The Bart Seniors Team x Details of the 2020 Confirmation Programme at St. Bartholomew's are now available on our Website; click on the image above.
If you are involved in any way, be aware that there is much important information to become familiar with! Update 12 October: The Canonisation Mass will take place at St. Peter's Basilica, Rome, from 08:30 (UK time), and the whole of the proceedings will be available to view live here.
Radio 4's Morning Worship will be broadcast from Birmingham Oratory, which Cardinal Newman founded - the organist for the occasion will be Daniel Battle, one time organist to our Polyphony Choir. The program will be aired at 08:10, and then available on the BBC Radio 4 Website for 'catch-up' shortly afterwards.
We hope as many of you as possible will join us for this very special Mass, marking this great milestone in our parish history.
There will be the opportunity to greet Archbishop John after Mass. The Choir’s celebration in the hall afterwards is for invited past and present Choir members only. Our Social Committee will be running its first St. Bart’s Summer Festival daily from 12:00-16:00 from Monday 12 August to Friday 16 August. This is, as we are all aware, a problem locally in the boroughs of both Lambeth and Croydon. Please spread the word and do come along and support this and indeed every event. This will take place on the Feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday 23 June, in Norbury Park at 14:00. Our First Holy Communion children and those who have been Confirmed will be joining us. We shall meet at the entrance to Norbury Park beside the old Police Station, at the bottom of Norbury Avenue where it joins Streatham High Road. Please join us in this parish public proclamation of our Faith.
