Our Social Committee will be running its first St. Bart’s Summer Festival daily from 12:00-16:00 from Monday 12 August to Friday 16 August.
The programme is filled with fun-packed activities throughout the week, for all ages, including: Making your own Books; Craft Workshop; Singalongs, Pampering (nails and hair); Teddy Bears’ Picnic; Seniors’ activities; Bake Off; Cupcake & Biscuit Decorating; Gardening Group; Head and Neck Massage; Table Top Sale.
We are looking for volunteers to help out throughout the week, so please do get in touch with the Parish Office if you can give of your time and talents during the Festival. We need bakers for the Bake Off on
16 August - the cake theme will be 'Sport'.
On Friday 16 August from 13:00-14:00 we shall be having a speaker from the Metropolitan Police, who will be giving a talk (with a presentation aimed at children aged 12 years and above and at parents) called ‘Makepeace: Policing serious youth violence in London’. This is, as we are all aware, a problem locally in the boroughs of both Lambeth and Croydon. Please spread the word and do come along and support this and indeed every event.
Accessibility - St. Bartholomew's does its utmost to accommodate those with additional needs. Whilst the main body of the church is wholly accessible to people with mobility disabilities, the choir gallery is both approached by stairs and the seating is then stepped by design. The church has a wheelchair-accessible toilet, and baby-changing facilities. There is a Loop System (AFIL) in place in the church.
