Father Augustine writes.....

21/1/2023

The late U.S. President John F. Kennedy once said, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them." It is against this backdrop that I should like to express my sincere gratitude to all you parishioners of St. Bartholomew’s Norbury for your kind generosity. Your personal gifts and the beautiful words you have both said and written to me are fuel that fires me up, ready to do more! Right from my very first meeting with Fr. Deo, I was most warmly received, and I felt so very welcome, immediately feeling at home. Hence, I could give my best to the community. You opened not only your arms but your doors to me and made me feel a valued member of the parish community. So many of you, at one point or another, made me feel especially loved - not just tolerated. For every kind word, amazing conversation, invitation for a meal, each gift of a smile, and warm welcome extended to me, I say a big thank you! Please continue to pray for me as I shall for you. I'll see you again, God willing. Otherwise, we shall definitely meet at Jesus' feet. Shalom. Fr. Gus.

Parish Annual General Meeting - 12 October 2022

8/10/2022

All parishioners are warmly invited to our 2022 AGM in the Parish Hall.

Please do come along! Our theme this year, building on the work of the Synod, will be community and participation. We hope that this will be an excellent ‘jumping in’ opportunity if you are new or relatively new to the parish. For others, we hope it will be a chance to re-establish bonds. There will be some talking as well as food and drink: it’s a social occasion! We are planning to have ambassadors from the various Parish activities, to discuss all we do and to plan for more.

The Agenda may be found here, and the Group Reports booklet here.

The Minutes of the last AGM in 2017, to be approved on the night, may be found here. Minutes of recent PPC Meetings may be found here. More about the PPC may be found here.

Synod 2021-2023 - Update July 2022

24/7/2022

Picture
The Catholic Bishops of England and Wales have released a statement [on 19 July] titled Seeking Our Hearts’ Desire offering their initial reflections on the National Synthesis document.

This in turn was the fruit of a discernment process in which the National Synthesis Team reflected on hundreds of pages of Synod reports received from the dioceses of England and Wales as well as Catholic organisations and individuals.

They collated the material to give a picture of the synodal process in England and Wales. Read more >>>>
