The Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales has designated 2020 as a Year in celebration of "The God who Speaks", inviting the Church in England and Wales to listen afresh to the Word of God, as did Our Blessed Lady at the Annunciation, to encounter anew the presence of that Word, and to proclaim it afresh in the Church and the World.

He served as Director of Music at St. Edmunds, Beckenham, and as Deacon until entering seminary in Rome in 1996. His first appointment after his Ordination was as Curate to us here at St. Bartholomew’s in 2000. A hugely talented musician, Father Tom was extremely supportive of our parish choirs and orchestra - to the best of our knowledge he has been the only member of our clergy to find the necessary keys and go up to the choir gallery and play the organ! He held a long association with the Bromley Philharmonic Choir (acting as principle conductor from 1991-93), and the Bromley Oecumenical Singers where he was Conductor Laureate. In the Archdiocese, Father Tom played active roles in Marriage & Family Life, and in the Ongoing Formation of Priests. Recently (June 2019) he had co-authored two books entitled Preparing for Marriage in the Catholic Church, one for Catechists and a companion volume for Candidates. Father Tom was appointed Parish Priest at Corpus Christi, Brixton Hill in July 2019, and passed away on 5 November aged 69. Requiescat in pace. ![]() Please pray for the safe and happy repose of the soul of Father Tom, who very sadly passed away on Tuesday 5 November. Father Tom was a curate here at St. Bartholomew's from 2000 to 2003. He was an accomplished musician, and hugely supportive of the music in our parish. Requiescat in Pace.
